Kamairi-cha is a type of tea made by pan-firing freshly harvested tea leaves. This differs from the sencha process, which halts fermentation by steaming the picked leaves and applying heat. Currently, the production of kamairi-cha accounts for less than 1% of Japan's total tea production, with the majority being produced in the mountainous regions of Kyushu, and Miyazaki Prefecture being the leading producing region.

Moreover, withering kamairicha undergoes an additional process called 'withering' before pan-firingthe leaves. This process involves wilting the leaves to enhance their aroma, allowing for a tea with a high fragrance.

Benifuuki cultivar is a cross between Benihomare, which has roots in Assam, and  Makura Cd86, which has roots in Darjeeling. Well-suited for the production of oxidised or semi-oxidised teas, such as black tea and withered kamairicha, due to its roots stemming from both parents being from regions famous for black tea.

When hot water is poured over the tea, this tea releases a subtly sweet and fruity aroma reminiscent of lychees.

We store our inventory in two locations: Japan and the United States. This is because we currently have a large customer base in America. In the future, we plan to expand our distribution centers to other countries. For details on shipping methods and delivery charges, please click here.

We strive to deliver our products to our customers as quickly and affordably as possible by stocking them in both Japan and the United States wherever feasible. However, for tea leaves that are sensitive to temperature and humidity, we ensure shipping from our temperature-controlled warehouses in Japan to maintain their quality.

Most of the teas we sell now are 15-30g. The reason is that we want you to enjoy exploring a variety of teas. We offer a multi-purchase discount on all teas, 10% for 3units and 20% for 5units at checkout.
If you want to buy a larger amount, such as 3oz at a time, please consider purchasing multiple units. With our multi-purchase discount, it will be more economical for your purchase.
