What is furoshiki ?
The history of furoshiki dates back to the 8th century. At that time, there was a steam bath in the temple, which was used as a religious practice to purify the body and mind. When taking a bath, furoshiki was placed on the floor and used to wrap the clothes changed. In the 1600s, public baths became popular among the people, and furoshiki was more often used to wrap clothes taken off in public baths to distinguish it from others.
