Satsuma-yaki Tenhire Yunomi Teacup by MUSHITARO
LILIKU TEA
Description
Satsuma-yaki is a pottery that has been produced in Kagoshima prefecture and has a history of over 400 years. "Tenhire" means the palm of the Kagoshima dialect. Since this is a handmade work that is carefully shaped on the palm, I named it "Tenhire Yusumi" Each work has different cracks and shapes, so it is an original and unique yunomi teacup in the world. The finishing process is called Dorokan.
What is Drokan?
The clay of Kurosatsuma was dipped in the clay of white pottery clay to crack the surface. After that, the glaze of Kurosatsuma is applied to the cracks and fired in the kiln. This is new style of Kurosatsuma invented by Mushitaro.
About color and shape
Since this product is handmade one by one, there are some differences in shape and size. The glaze is easy to change in the kiln, and the appearance may differ slightly from the photo. Please enjoy each uniqueness.
