About Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture
Tokorozawa is a production area for Sayama tea. Saitama Prefecture, where Tokorozawa is located, is adjacent to Tokyo and is one of the few tea production areas in Japan that is located in an urban area. Sayama tea has a long history as a tea production area, and the Sayama tea brand has been established as one of the three major tea brands in Japan, along with Shizuoka tea and Uji tea. Sayama is one of the coolest tea growing areas in Japan, which allows the tea trees to rest during the winter.
